Essential Oil for aches and pains this summer!
After tearing down the ivy from your home (see my Feng Shui video on the affects of IVY), or hours in the garden this summer, or fun activities in the park with kids or teammates, you may have some aches and pains you didn’t have before.
The most common causes of muscle pain and aches are tension and stress, overuse and minor injuries. This type of pain is usually localized, which means it only affects a few muscles or a small part of your body. Common areas for aches and pains are the back and any joints we use a lot, such as our knees, ankles and wrists.
Essentially, the pain is caused by inflammation within the body. There are many different ways we can try to treat this. Over the counter anti-inflammatory drugs, like ibuprofen, are often used to great effect. Ice (or a cold compress) will also reduce inflammation, especially when used alongside plenty of rest. There are also foods, such as green leafy vegetables, nuts and fatty fish, which are said to have anti-inflammatory properties, so including these in your diet would be a good idea. Interestingly, cannabis is also great at reducing pain and inflammation. It is also now a lot easier to source and can even be vaped via a dab pen. Click here for information on how to use dab pen if you are interested in trying this.
However, topical rubs are also very effective. With that in mind, I encourage you to check out Deep Blue Rub and Deep Blue Essential Oil from doTERRA Essential Oils. Its an organic version of a muscle ointment with a plethora of natural ingredients including wintergreen, camphor, peppermint, blue tansy, blue chamomile and more! I used it myself for my arm and wrist pain (too much computer work) and received so much comfort! Enjoy summer, pain free!
